Economic Development:
Computer Training

Computers and technology seem to be the lifeline for many companies these days. India has been booming the past decade in computer software support and various other related areas. People living in remote villages in North East India never seem to get a chance to learn computers, and in many cases even see what a computer looks like.

NEIP brings volunteers to these villages, along with laptops (laptops are afterwards donated to the school, so that the community may continue to learn and practice), to teach and train those interested in learning the basics.
For the youth, this prepares them for the day they may have the opportunity to go to school in the city, where they will be around computers, and can keep up with the others who have grown up in a technological environment.  For the others, it gives them the basic introductory skills needed to potentially get a job that requires computer knowledge in a nearby town or city.

NEIP also partners with other organizations who will teach and train school teachers in the villages, who in turn can teach the children.

The public can help by donating to NEIP.  NEIP uses these funds to purchase  laptops, as well as sending the willing teachers for training in the cities.
