There are many basic ways to help the people of North East India earn a supplemental income. In many cases, it is simply a matter of helping them get on their feet starting out. This could be played out by helping them purchase a sewing machine, or a weaving loom, or maybe simply fixing their vehicle up, so they can drive to town and work.
The General Economic Development Fund does just that... helps in small ways, that don't necessarily require a preset structure or system, or loans, etc... We are not simply "handing out money," as it may seem to some, but using this fund as a 'special circumstances' type of fund. |
