Economic Development:
Micro-Loans

There are many basic ways to help the people of North East India earn a supplemental income. In many cases, it is simply a matter of helping them get on their feet starting out. This could be played out by helping them purchase a sewing machine, or a weaving loom, or purchasing a plot of land to farm on, or purchasing a cow or goat to sell milk from and so on.

The Micro-Loan Economic Development Fund helps people get back on their feet, or get started in a small business venture that will  produce an income for them.
The public can help by donating to NEIP.  Although we try to recoup the loans, it takes a base amount to start with each new area we work.  NEIP uses these funds for this purpose only, and only if it looks like a very viable solution  to one's problems and when the person(s) have submitted their business plan/idea, proving that their need for money has been thought out, and that they are capable of doing the venture they are setting forth to do.  Assistance is sometimes provided by NEIP resources to help these people as well.
